TED

In November I was invited to speak at the TED conference in London on how something can look real but at the same time be impossible. The theme of the evening was “Travels in Space, Time & Imagination” and there were about ten speakers talking about everything from 3d-printing to how the brain can tell you where you parked your car.

This was a new experience to me and it felt like a great opportunity to share my work with the world. I usually don’t reveal the source photos of my work, not because it’s a big secret but because I think it takes away some of the magic. But this was a special occasion and only the talks they think are good enough end up online.

Photography is an art in itself but to me it’s different, to me it’s about collecting material to realize the idea in my mind. When pressing the trigger is the end of the process for some, it’s just the beginning for me. If you want to hear my thoughts on photography and see some of work behind my photos please have a look at the video below. Enjoy.
